Dogs removed – indifferent Styrians: “I’d rather shoot them”

Date:

Cowbells around their necks and paws glued together: father and son tortured their two dogs in southeastern Styria for years, their fate did not care about them. The dogs in the shelter are now well cared for.

Time and time again, a hunter in southeastern Styria saw two Bernese Mountain Dog crosses roaming free in the woods hunting game. The man informed the Graz Arche Noah. Animal protection then found the owner of the dogs, who was no stranger. Two years ago, he drew attention for putting heavy cowbells around puppies’ necks so they couldn’t run away. The back legs of the little dogs were also tied together with adhesive tape.

At that time there was a complaint and a fine for the owner. But because he removed the tape when the vet arrived, the dogs stayed on the farm.

Due to the new report, the Animal Inspectorate has now moved again. After the father passed away in March, the son lives with the two bitches on the farm. He doesn’t care about you. He didn’t want to pay for that care, he told the animal inspector. “Then I’d rather shoot them or put them to sleep,” said the man. The two dogs were then brought into Noah’s ark.
