As the police have only just announced, a 47-year-old holidaymaker died in a fatal accident in the municipality of Schruns on Monday afternoon. The man had fallen about 100 feet over a rock face.
The man was in the Gauenstein area when he fell 30 meters over a rock wall around 12.25 am. With his last strength, the hiker managed to drag himself to the main road and call for help. Eventually residents became aware of him. They immediately started first aid measures.
Cause of crash unclear
However, the efforts were unfortunately in vain – the 47-year-old succumbed to his serious head injury on the spot. There is currently no information on how the mysterious crash happened.
