Strikes by the ELA, Independientes, ESK and CGT unions will affect some 50,000 users this Thursday. The Euskotren Public Society regrets that the unions are continuing the strikes “despite open negotiations with the social party”.
Labor unions DE A, independent, ESK And CBTmajority of the Standing Committee Euscotrenthey declared strikes in this transport this Thursday to protest against the lack of staff and the demand for more contracts.
The interruptions, which will affect some 50,000 users, will take place in the intervening hours 07:00-09:00 and 18:00-20:00 in all the company’s services in the CAV (rail, tram, bus and funicular).
In a statement, the convening centers denounced that the “lack of schedule and from hiring of staff” ensure that more than 25% of stations’ daily shifts remain uncovered, that no service is en route, that the hours of excesses from previous years are not returned, and that workers’ breaks are shortened. They also demand more security personnel in night shifts and special parties.
Euskotren regrets strikes continue “despite open negotiations”
The Euskotren Public Society for its part regrets that the unions are continuing the strikes, “despite open negotiations with the social party”. In a statement, Euskotren has assured that it will guarantee the delivery of 30% minimum servicesdrawn up by the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government.
Euskotren recalled that the strikes called will affect railway services in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa; the train bus to the Hospital de Usansolo and the Technological Park of Zamudio; Metro line 3 in Bilbao; the Bilbao and Vitoria-Gasteiz trams; the Larreineta funicular and the Larreineta-La Arboleda bus service, in Trapagaran (Bizkaia); and the buses operated for the Bizkaibus (Right Bank and Left Bank-Unibertsitatea) foral systems, in Bizkaia, and Lurraldebus (Debabarrena and Urola Kosta), in Gipuzkoa.
