According to police, the man fell and hit rocks during a canyoning trip in Claro. According to current knowledge, the 35-year-old traveled with other people in the Censo stream, the police of the Ticino canton said Thursday evening.

The accident reportedly happened shortly after noon. It was initially unclear why this happened. The man was first cared for by his companions and then by the emergency services. The Swiss air rescue service Rega eventually flew the injured into the valley. However, all help came too late for him.
