Meeting with Putin – Lukashenko: “Wagners are starting to stress us!”

Date:

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian ally Alexander Lukashenko met on Sunday in the Russian metropolis of Saint Petersburg. Welcoming Putin, Lukashenko said regarding the Ukrainian counter-offensive: “There is no counter-offensive.” The Kremlin boss replied: “There is, but it failed.” Lukashenko continued: The Wagner mercenaries stationed in Belarus are “in a state of stress” and want to “march to Warsaw”.

“The Wagners are starting to stress us. They say: ‘We want to go west, let’s go’. I ask why they want to go to the West.” The answer was: “Well, we want to travel to Poland, to Rzeszow”. The Wagner group fell out of favor with Putin after the failed uprising against the Russian army.

During the meeting, Lukashenko handed Putin a map on the transfer of parts of the Polish armed forces to the borders of the EU state.

Counteroffensive progresses slowly
Ukrainian forces launched a long-awaited counter-offensive in June, but have so far met with little success against well-entrenched invading Russian forces.

US Chief of Staff Mark Milley recently said Ukraine’s counter-offensive is “far from a failure” but will be long, hard and bloody. According to the US military, this is not due to Russian troops, but to explosive obstacles in the ground.

Performance per meter instead of per kilometre
The troops of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are advancing very slowly. Performance is currently measured in meters and not kilometers. This fact causes more and more headaches. In addition, Ukraine suffers from ammunition problems because it fires more than is produced in the West. A Russian governor on Saturday accused Ukraine of using cluster munitions.

Meanwhile, according to Russian sources, Ukraine again attacked Crimea with drones on Saturday. China wants to mediate in the grain dispute and Putin would like to take revenge on the head of the Wagner mercenaries, Yevgeny Prigozhin.
