Tuesday evening there was a traffic accident in Gerasdorf near Vienna with one death. A 50-year-old motorcyclist moved into the oncoming lane after colliding with a car and was hit by a car.
In the Korneuburg district, an accident occurred on Tuesday evening involving a motorcycle steering wheel and a car in which the motorcyclist drove into a car that had braked earlier. The 50-year-old then fell and slid into the oncoming lane, where an oncoming vehicle hit the man. All help came too late for the motorcyclist from the Gänserndorf district. The 33-year-old driver driving on the oncoming lane suffered minor injuries.
Driver overtook several vehicles
According to the police, the two-wheeler overtook several vehicles shortly before 6:30 p.m. The man then went behind the car of a 29-year-old driver. The 29-year-old then had to slow down his car because of a group of cyclists driving in front of him. The motorcyclist recognized this too late and crashed into the back of the car. The 50-year-old succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident – the 33-year-old driver from the Korneuburg district was taken to the Korneuburg state hospital. The 29-year-old driver of the car was not injured.
