Terrible traffic accident on Friday morning in the Ausserfern region in Tyrol: A motorcyclist collided with the spinning car of a holidaymaker in Ehrwald. The 54-year-old motorcyclist was thrown onto the road and suffered serious injuries.
The accident happened around 8:15 a.m., police said. The 33-year-old driver from the Netherlands was on Ehrwalder Strasse when he wanted to turn left into a parking lot. “There was a violent collision with the oncoming motorcyclist,” the police said.
German with emergency helicopter in clinic
The motorcyclist – a 54-year-old German – was thrown off the motorcycle by the force of the impact. He sustained serious injuries and, after receiving first aid at the scene of the accident, had to be flown by helicopter to the Bavarian hospital in Murnau.
There was extensive damage to both vehicles. Ehrwalder Strasse had to be closed to all traffic in the vicinity of the accident site for about 30 minutes.
