A 19-year-old driver of alcohol and his five passengers were injured in a traffic accident in St. Veit im Pongau on Saturday night. The young man, who only had a test driver’s license, went off the road and crashed into two trees.
The accident happened just after midnight. A 19-year-old came with his father’s car on the L218 in St. Veit im Pongau through the valley towards St. Johann im Pongau for reasons that have not yet been clarified. This left the driver with the car back on the right side of the road and fell off a very steep shoulder and crashed into two trees.
The driver and the five passengers, aged between 19 and 21, were injured and taken to the Cardinal Schwarzenberg Clinic. According to the police, the 19-year-old test driving license holder had 0.98 promille alcohol in his blood. The driver’s license was provisionally withdrawn from the drunk driver and the 19-year-old was reported to the responsible authority.
