A drunken 30-year-old injured a passerby and three police officers in Vienna-Neubau on Sunday night. At the time of his arrest, the drunkard had a blood alcohol level of 1.86.
The 30-year-old was up to mischief in Vienna on Saturday night. First there was a conversation between the man and a pedestrian on Lerchenfelder Strasse – the two did not know each other. During the conversation, the 30-year-old suddenly became aggressive and pushed the 56-year-old to the ground.
Passersby called the police
The rioter then climbed over a park fence with an iron bar in his hand. Several witnesses saw this and alerted the police.
Resist arrest
Officials discovered the suspect in Thaliastrasse. He tried to escape and defended himself when he was picked up with punches, kicks and punches. Three police officers were injured in the scuffle and one was unable to continue his duty.
1.86 promille in the blood
The Italian who was eventually arrested had a blood alcohol level of 1.86. He was still held in police custody on Sunday morning. The iron bar has not been found. The 56-year-old passerby suffered minor injuries.
