A 37-year-old Upper Austrian man who has been in custody since January is under serious suspicion. He is alleged to have paid for the sexual abuse of young children in Asia via live video chats. The Wels public prosecutor’s office also accuses him of raping a girl in his own environment and abusing two others. The charges against the man have now been completed.
Fortunately, a tip from the United States last year from a child abuse hotline to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) got the investigation underway against a 37-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district for child abuse and rape. The worker turned out to have paid for, among other things, the abuse of Asian children on camera. During highly incriminating house searches, relevant data material was also seized.
Attacks on girls of acquaintances
But the suspect is said to have pursued his perverse tendencies not only via the internet, but also within his immediate circle of acquaintances. The investigation revealed that he had raped and sexually abused three little girls. The victims came from different families. The worker is said to have been very good at gaining his parents’ trust and attacking the children behind their backs.
The attacks on the three girls (they were only 4, 7 and 11 years old) are said to have taken place from 2013 onwards. The rape victim is said to have been seven years old when the crime began. Her ordeal lasted until 2015. The other two girls were allegedly sexually tortured until 2019. “The indictment is based on incriminating statements from the victims,” Barbara Rumplmayr, spokeswoman for the Welsh public prosecutor’s office, confirmed to the “Krone”.
The video abuse involving children from Asia is said to have taken place until 2022.
Numerous charges
The man has been in custody since January this year. The Public Prosecution Service of Wels has now completed the indictment. The 37-year-old will stand trial for rape, child abuse, abuse of power, incitement to serious child abuse and child pornography. He faces a prison sentence of up to ten years. A trial date has not yet been set.
