In the dispute about the cancellation costs, a Dutch holidaymaker allegedly hit the operator at a campsite in Obertraun (Upper Austria). He was thrown over the hood and roof, says Lorenzo Morelli, 68, before hitting the tarmac head and shoulders. It was established due to negligent bodily injury and hit-and-run.
The incident in Obertraun is fatally reminiscent of the two very young Styrian drunks who hit a sushi landlady in Linz. The Obertraun case that has now become known also involved disputes over the invoice, in particular the cancellation costs.
That’s what the victim says
Camping operator Lorenzo Morelli says: “It was last Monday. It was raining and the Dutch guest wanted to leave after one night. But he booked for seven nights. My daughter charged the cancellation fee, something with a discount. Anyway, the guest said that he didn’t pay and ran away. My daughter knocked on my window, I went out and stood in front of the car. It was a very flat car, an electric car, like a Tesla.”
“It went extremely fast”
“The Dutchman suddenly drove away. It was extremely fast. I went over the hood and slid across the roof, grabbed my hand briefly on one of the two bikes strapped to the back, then slammed my shoulder and head against the pavement. The Dutchman just drove off.”
Suffered severe bruising
Morelli said he was badly bruised, had severe back pain and needed a walker to get around. Police confirm ongoing investigations into negligent bodily injury and hit and run. The details of the accused holidaymaker are known.
