In addition to Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, the traffic light Corona is now also orange in Salzburg and Tyrol. This means that the respective federal states have the second highest level of assessment tool in the pandemic.
The states of Carinthia, Upper Austria, Styria and Vorarlberg remain classified as medium risk (yellow). However, Upper Austria and Vorarlberg reached 50 for high risk with a risk rating of 48.4 and 48.0 respectively. Lower Austria (50.9) and Salzburg (51.3) came just above.
Hospital occupancy highest in Burgenland
In Burgenland, the intensive care units were 15 percent occupied on Wednesday, making them the only state to exceed the first critical limit of ten percent. There, too, the occupancy rate in the regular departments was highest at 4.3 percent. According to the traffic light commission’s forecast, Tyrol and Lower Austria could also decline by more than four percent in the next two weeks.
The highest seven-day incidents per 100,000 inhabitants were in Vienna (1117) and Burgenland (1007). However, this is also distorted by the fact that Vienna, with 23,717 tests per 100,000 inhabitants, tests three times and Burgenland (15,105) tests about twice as much as Styria, which is in third place with 7826 tests per 100,000 inhabitants. The test base is Tyrol with 2952 tests per 100,000 inhabitants.
