Several people were injured in accidents on Sunday evening on the southern motorway (A2) in the direction of Vienna. Blockades and traffic jams were the result. According to the ÖAMTC, four vehicles were involved in an accident near Seebenstein (Neunkirchen district).
Ten people were injured, none of them seriously, an APA spokesman said. A Viennese motorcyclist was flown to hospital by emergency helicopter after a fall near Vösendorf (Mödling district).
Kilometers longer Stau
After the accident at Seebenstein, involving four vehicles with Lower Austrian number plates, the A2 was closed. A car ended up on the roof. There were miles of traffic jams. As a result, there was a rear-end collision, the ÖAMTC spokesman reported.
Cyclist taken to hospital
At Vösendorf, a motorcyclist riding in a group with two other motorcyclists fell through no fault of their own. The woman was transported by helicopter “Christophorus 9” to the Meidling Accident Hospital in Vienna.
The spokesman said her injuries were not life-threatening. The Autobahn was temporarily closed and on the way back there was a traffic jam of six kilometers.
