Two men were seriously injured in e-bike accidents in Zillertal in Tyrol on Friday. A Slovak (23) fell 40 meters over a meadow slope and a 47-year-old German fell into a stream after a failed evasive maneuver.
The 23-year-old Slovak was riding his e-bike on a driveway to Zillertaler Höhenstraße in the municipality of Kaltenbach around 5 p.m. when he suddenly went over the edge of the road. The young man then fell about 40 meters across the adjacent meadow.
Take the emergency helicopter to the hospital
The e-biker sustained serious injuries. After first aid at the scene of the accident, he was flown by ambulance helicopter to the Schwaz district hospital.
Evasive maneuvers ended with Bach
A devastating accident with an e-bike had already occurred in the Zillertaler Tux in the morning. A 47-year-old German was cycling on a path next to the Tuxbach. While trying to avoid walkers, the man crashed into a wooden fence – he then lost his balance and fell over an embankment into the stream.
The walkers still present helped the German out of the water and set the rescue chain in motion. The cyclist sustained injuries and received medical treatment at a doctor’s office in Tux.
