Thrown with an armchair – brutal attack on employees in a Viennese bakery

Date:

Due to misconduct, a 54-year-old man was asked to leave a bakery branch on the Praterstern in Vienna-Leopoldstadt. However, the request annoyed the unwanted customer – whereupon he returned the next day, grabbed an armchair and attacked the employee with it. The police had to be alerted.

It was around 5.15 p.m. on Friday when the Austrian re-entered the branch. According to the 34-year-old employee, the man threatened her and threw a chair at her. The woman was able to dodge just in time.

Workers threatened to be killed
When leaving the bakery, the alleged perpetrator is said to have destroyed a table fan. However, the victim reacted quickly and immediately alerted the police. The officers were able to arrest the suspect a short time later near the business premises. “While the facts were being cleared up, the 54-year-old threatened the employee several times with death, after which he was arrested,” the police said on Saturday.
