Witnesses warned the police in Salzburg on Thursday about an unusual operation: a lamb sat in the back seat of a car. It later turned out that a man (49) wanted to take the animal to his farm in Berlin after it was rejected by the ewe in Croatia.
The officials notified an official veterinarian, who referred to the non-compliance with animal transport regulations. “Chili” was handed over to an animal welfare organization and quarantined for four weeks.
At the leg aid, the lamb is now being cared for in a healthy way again. “Chili” is now fed from morning to evening with replacement milk from the bottle. “It’s really heartbreaking, she’s so sweet and affectionate, something like this has never happened to me in my 30 years as an animal rights activist,” says Pfotenhilfe boss Jürgen Stadler.
Apparently, due to a lack of nutrients, a fungus on the face of “Chile” must also be treated. This is manifested in bald patches in the fur around the eyes and mouth. “Chili” is cared for by a veterinarian specializing in sheep.
