Two passengers killed – driver (18) gets life sentence

Date:

Mackenzie Shirilla crashed her car into a house during an altercation, killing her occupants – it was murder!

Last July, Mackenzie, then 17, drove into a brick building at 100 mph without braking. Her then-boyfriend Dominic Russo, 20, and another boyfriend, Davion Flanagan, 19, were killed in the car accident. The boys were killed instantly, only the teenage girl survived. It soon became clear that it was not an accident at all: a surveillance camera recorded how the driver even stepped on the accelerator pedal shortly after the collision and accelerated. All three inmates were under the influence of marijuana. Magic mushrooms were also discovered in the car.

We cried and mourned for months
According to the lawsuit, the driver wanted to end their relationship with an intentionally caused accident. In court, Mackenzie protested her innocence, saying she could not remember anything. Before the verdict was announced, a video of the accused partying at a Halloween party — three months after the tragedy — sparked controversy. Her mother insisted this was the only time her daughter went out. For months she just cried and grieved.

Now the 18-year-old has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. According to the judge, she only has the option of parole after fifteen years – with little chance of success.
