About 100 firefighters were needed to respond to a house fire in Mödling, Lower Austria. Three people were injured. The entire building had to be evacuated because of the smoke.
The rescue workers’ large-scale operation came early in the morning on Sunday. About 100 men from seven fire departments were on site to extinguish the flames. In addition, all residents had to be brought to safety and the entire apartment building had to be evacuated. Some residents had already fled to the balconies for fear of the fire.

A fire is believed to have broken out in a ground floor apartment due to a previously unknown cause, in which three people were injured, one of them seriously. They had to be taken to nearby hospitals. Four rescue services, including an ambulance, attended to the injured and an ambulance helicopter was also on the scene. The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.
