A forest worker was seriously injured in Blühnbachtal (Salzburg) on Friday when he fell on a branch while processing beetle trees. Rescuers took him in a rescue helicopter to Salzburg University Hospital.
The 42-year-old worker slipped in the municipality of Tenneck (Pongau) while cutting branches from a fallen tree and fell with his buttocks on a vertical branch. This penetrated about ten centimeters deep into his body.

The rescuers took him with the Martin 1 rescue helicopter to the University Hospital of Salzburg, where he was immediately treated. The incident once again shows the risks faced by forestry workers in their important work.
