The series of serious motorcycle accidents in Styria continues. There were also several on Saturday, a 56-year-old succumbed to his injuries.
Glass factory: A motorcyclist from the Murtal district drove his motorcycle on the L619 from Deutschlandsberg towards Weinebene at around 12:30 p.m. In the vicinity of the Reithkehre, the man fell and slid into the car of an oncoming 51-year-old from the Southeastern Styrian district. The 51-year-old suffered minor injuries. Despite the deployment of an ambulance and a rescue helicopter, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries.
Adam: Another motorcycle accident occurred on the B146 around 2.30 pm. A 64-year-old from the district of Sankt Johann im Pongau was the last of a group of four motorcyclists to travel from Gstatterboden towards Admont. He hit a bend in the road and hit an embankment. The injured person was flown by the rescue helicopter to the LKH Graz.
Birkfield: A 69-year-old from the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag drove his motorcycle on the national road 72 from Anger in the direction of Birkfeld around 11 a.m. At km 50.490, for unknown reasons, he crossed the middle of the carriageway in a right turn and collided sideways with the oncoming vehicle of a 40-year-old from the Weiz district. The motorcyclist fell and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old daughter of the car driver, also from the Weiz district, who was sitting in the back seat of the car, also suffered injuries of an unknown nature in the accident. Both injured people were taken to the LKH Hartberg by the rescue service.
