Savings books, jewelry – 24-hour caregiver allegedly stole from woman

A 24-hour nurse allegedly stole from a woman she cared for in the Wiener Neustadt district (Lower Austria). Gold ducats, jewelry and two savings accounts worth a total of more than 80,000 euros were allegedly stolen from the 82-year-old.

A 39-year-old caregiver is suspected of stealing gold ducats, jewelry and two savings accounts from the person she was caring for. Total value: more than 80,000 euros. The accused Romanian national was temporarily arrested by employees of the Sollenau police station and taken to the local prison on the orders of the Wiener Neustadt Public Prosecutor’s Office.

During the interrogations, the suspect exercised her right to refuse to testify. The whereabouts of the stolen goods are currently unknown, the Lower Austrian State Police Directorate wrote in a press release.
