Students Martin Parzer and Tobi Gaggi investigate how much waste obscures the ‘blue stream’.

It is estimated that over 14 tons
Every ten kilometers the students moor and clean the coastal area. Based on the amounts of collected manure, they extrapolate how much waste is lying around on the banks of the Danube. “We estimate that there are more than 14 tonnes in Austria,” says Parzer.
The 29-year-old emphasizes: “I want the Danube to stay clean. With our campaign we want to draw attention to the pollution.” The raft trip is supported by the Südwind initiative.
