For a supposedly waterproof iPhone 13 Pro, a Viennese paid almost 1300 euros in 2021. However, a few raindrops were enough to damage the camera lenses – and despite the warranty, Apple refused to pay for the repair. That’s why Robin D. sued – and won! Why it’s important not to give up.
“I had the iPhone 13 Pro in my jacket pocket when it started to rain. We were just hiking during our holiday in Carinthia,” Robin recalls. Surprised by the rain, the family hurried back to the accommodation – where Robin had to leave come: the camera lenses of his smartphone were damaged by the raindrops despite the protective cover. The initial anger quickly grew into a bigger problem and eventually a lawsuit. Today – one year later – Robin can look back on a long and tiring, albeit successful lawsuit.
