A training flight with the paraglider ended early Thursday evening for a German in East Tyrol in hospital. Shortly after takeoff, the parachute suddenly collapsed – the 64-year-old then fell about 100 feet down a slope.
According to the police, the 64-year-old German wanted to make a training flight from the launch site “Stalpe” on Sillianberg to the landing site in Sillian around 6 p.m. “As he got into the take-off phase, the paraglider suddenly collapsed and shot forward. The man lost his balance and lost control of the screen,” the researchers said.
