Demos announced – “Several hundred officials” during the trial of Teichtmeister

Date:

The trial against ex-Burg actor Florian Teichtmeister at the Vienna Regional Court starts on Tuesday. The police are therefore extra alert around the courthouse after a large-scale demonstration about Teichtmeister last weekend – including the gallows that were taken along. More demos will follow.

In the hometown of Teichtmeister’s mother, alleged child protectors, most of whom belonged to the right-wing scene, caused a stir in a demonstration that even involved a gallows.

Demonstration all day
As announced by the State Police Directorate, a meeting will also be held on Tuesday near the state court on the topic of “Hands Off Our Children.” The rally, registered by a private individual, will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Landesgerichtsstraße to Wickenburggasse. 250 participants are expected.

“Several hundred police officers” will be deployed, who will act “widely” in the coming days, “as a week of protests by climate activists and other major events also takes place in Vienna.”

The security forces in the court increased
Security measures on the part of the judiciary will also be tightened. The security forces in the court have been expanded. The judiciary must ensure that Teichtmeister, who is accused of possessing and creating a total of 76,000 files depicting child and youth abuse, is brought to justice unharmed and that his physical integrity is safeguarded in connection with the trial.

In this regard, the regional court has been in close contact with the police for days. Civilian and uniformed officers will secure the interior and exterior of the regional court to ensure that the process runs smoothly, the regional police directorate emphasizes.

“It is already moving towards healthy popular sentiment and the People’s Court,” said prominent Viennese criminal lawyer Rudolf Mayer of the latest excesses surrounding the Teichtmeister trial.

Hostilities against Teichtmeister
In the Burg, Teichtmeister gave Caliban in “Der Sturm”, Burgtheater director Martin Kusej cast Teichtmeister in autumn 2022 in a leading role in his play “Next door”, which was canceled after the actor’s dismissal in January 2023. In the Sisi- Marie Kreutzer’s film “Corsage”, Teichtmeister played the role of Emperor Franz Joseph together with Vicky Krieps.

Recently, Teichtmeister was afraid to use public transport or taxis for fear of hostility. This was preceded by media outrage on certain communication channels after Teichtmeister was photographed during local visits. As a result, lists of restaurants that Teichtmeister no longer wanted to serve appeared.
