The shocking poster advertisement of a well-known brothel operator has caused horror in Graz and, in addition to the Minister of Women’s Affairs Susanne Raab, has also affected mayor Elke Kahr. Kahr has now decided to take action and has filed a complaint.
Over the weekend, many passers-by became aware of the tacky advertising poster. “We are hiring!!! Girl testers” was the controversial slogan. Elke Kahr has now also spoken out about the brothel advertising on the Schönau belt in Graz: “Fortunately, we have a law in Styria that prohibits advertising for brothels”. said the mayor.

In the Prostitution Act of Styria, according to Article 3, paragraph 4, point 3, “…any form of advertising for brothels and brothel-like establishments on billboards, on radio and television, and in the context of public events in the field of cinematography” is forbidden. Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to 7,267 euros.
“I have therefore reported the matter to State Police Headquarters and hope that action will be taken quickly and effectively,” said Kahr.
„Advertising is incredibly disgusting“
Women’s Minister Susanne Raab (ÖVP) has already responded to the tasteless advertisement: “When I read that, my stomach turns. This commercial is incredibly disgusting, misogynistic and inhumane. Presenting girls and women as commodities that can be ‘tested’ glorifies violence and is dangerous. I have therefore asked my ministry to investigate legal action against the operator together with the Styrian police.”
The operator, who declined to be named, denied to the Krone that they are actually looking for people interested in checking the sexual qualities of the women who work there.
