The stones are rolling again! The Rolling Stones are releasing a new album, Hackney Diamonds. More information will be available on Wednesday in an exclusive live stream on YouTube. The songs, the guest stars, the advertising campaign – the “Krone” tells you everything that is known about the new Stones LP.
It all started with an old fashioned advertisement in a small local London newspaper. On page 3 of the Hackney Gazette on August 17, glass repair company Hackney Diamonds – a slang term for broken glass on the floor after a robbery – advertised its various services. “Our friendly team promises you satisfaction. If you say give me shelter, we’ll fix your broken windows,” reads the mysterious ad. It wasn’t long before hardcore Rolling Stone fans took notice of the ad text, peppered with song titles.
