As reported, the alleged rape took place in Weyer on Wednesday night. The 15-year-old is said to have met two other Ukrainians and several Syrians on a playground. According to the two witnesses, the 19-year-old and the 15-year-old walked away from the group for about 40 minutes before returning.
the suspicion
During this time, the asylum seeker is said to have dragged the girl to a hard-to-see railway embankment and then assaulted the 15-year-old. The girl was slightly drunk at the time. According to the police, she suffered strangulation marks on her neck and abrasions on her arms.
“In a good mood” according to witnesses
After her return, however, the 15-year-old was in good spirits and should not have said a word about a possible crime, according to Steyr’s prosecutor.
“Doesn’t have to be in custody”
“The suspected Syrian remains at large for the time being and does not have to be in custody,” said public prosecutor Pechatschek. Further research will be done, among other things mobile phones should also be evaluated.
