The Belgian authorities have seized one and a half tons of illegal medicines at Brussels airport. The drugs were discovered in mid-July in a batch of linseed.
It was “one of the largest seizures in the European Union in recent years”, the Federal Agency for Drugs and Health Products (FAMHP) said in Brussels on Wednesday.
Anticonvulsants and erection drugs
The more than 1.6 million tablets include products that include stimulants, antiepileptics or erection pills.
According to the FAMHP, a total of 2,138 postal packages with illegal medicines were seized last year. However, the authority has not provided information on how many tons it was in 2022.
