A 23-year-old man’s enjoyment of home-baked cookies in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia ended in hospital. When he called 911, he could barely speak.
The man made the cookies together with two friends in Dahlem on Saturday evening, Euskirchen police said on Sunday.
Complicated emergency call
Shortly afterwards, the trio called the emergency services. According to the police, the emergency call was complicated. The men could no longer speak intelligibly and could no longer indicate exactly where they were.
Investigations are underway
The 23-year-old was eventually taken to hospital with symptoms of poisoning. What was in the cookies is still being determined, says a police spokesperson in Euskirchen.
