Pack an umbrella! – Late summer takes a break in the middle of the week

The weather for the next five days is mainly characterized by a weakening influence of high pressure. Summer returns on Monday with temperatures up to 32 degrees. According to Geosphere Austria’s forecast, instability is expected mid-week.

In some valleys and basins in the south, fog fields clear in the early morning Assembly soon and it will remain sunny and warm in late summer. Between the Tyrolean Oberland and the Salzkammergut there are more cumulus clouds above the mountains, especially on the north side of the Alps. Any subsequent showers will remain weak and unproductive. The wind continues to blow weakly. The early temperatures are given at 9 to 17 degrees, the daily maximum temperatures at 26 to 32 degrees.

Thunderstorms and showers are possible from Tuesday
The influence of high pressure in the eastern Alpine region is weakening Tuesday from the west. This means that the chance of rain and thunderstorms in Vorarlberg and Tyrol increases in the morning. Showers and thunderstorms can also be expected further east during the day, especially in the mountains north of the Alps, and even in the Vienna Forest region in the evening. Everywhere else it is sunny and warm in late summer. The wind comes from the southeast to southwest and is weak to moderate. Early temperatures are forecast at ten to 18 degrees, with daily highs at 25 to 31 degrees.

It starts in the west and on the north side of the Alps Wednesday with clouds and rain showers and during the course of the day the shower-prone weather quickly spreads throughout Austria. Thunderstorms may also occur. The focus of precipitation is in the mountains, in the lowlands and in the south there are even longer sunny periods. In the foothills of the Alps and in the lowlands, the moderate to strong westerly wind will temporarily increase. The Geosphere expects early temperatures of eleven to 18 degrees and daily highs from west to east of 21 to 27 degrees.

Sunny weather at the end of the week

However, during the day the weather improves noticeably, the tendency to showers decreases and the sunny periods also become longer. It will be unstable for the longest time in the south, where there are also more thunderstorms. The wind is blowing moderately to strongly from the northwest to the east, otherwise there is little wind. It will be cooler again, with early temperatures of eleven to 18 degrees and daily highs of 19 to 24 degrees.

Due to the influence of high pressure, very sunny weather will arise again Friday. Remaining clouds in the mountains and patches of fog in the valleys will soon clear. Cumulus clouds may form in the afternoon, but they usually remain harmless. The wind usually blows weakly. The early temperatures drop again to five to 13 degrees. The maximum daytime temperatures are 21 to 25 degrees.
