Shortly after 5 p.m., a 79-year-old from the South-East Styrian district wanted to cross Güssinger Straße B 57 on his e-bike, coming from a municipal road. The man may have ignored the priority. At the same time, a 22-year-old from the South-East Styria region was driving a car on the B 57 from Feldbach towards Fehring.
The man was not wearing a helmet
When she saw the cyclist crossing from the right, she immediately applied emergency braking, but was unable to prevent a collision. The 79-year-old, who was not wearing a bicycle helmet, was hit by the car and pushed to the ground. He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to LKH Feldbach by the emergency services. As the hospital announced, the 79-year-old died on Monday from his serious injuries. The 22-year-old suffered a shock but was unharmed.
