Drunken men gave the police a chase in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Sunday evening. At first it looked like they could escape. However, they were arrested in the area of Brünner Straße. The starting point of the action was a threat with a knife at a bar on Kürschnergasse.
Officers from the Floridsdorf City Police Command were called to the restaurant shortly after 3:30 am. There, a witness met them and said the suspect had driven away in a car.
Spectacular chase
The car was spotted during an immediate search, but the driver was initially able to escape at speeds of more than 100 kilometers per hour and with risky overtaking maneuvers and changes of direction.
He could not be happy with his successful escape for long. Another patrol car discovered the car in the area of Brünner Strasse, two men were standing next to it. When they saw the police they fled, but the police were faster.
Guests were threatened with a knife
Witnesses have seriously accused the 32-year-old passenger; he allegedly threatened other guests with a knife in the restaurant and a scuffle broke out. The 31-year-old driver, on the other hand, had approximately 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his blood. Both were caught with multiple violations.
