Russian President Vladimir Putin blames Ukraine for the ongoing fighting. He was under the impression that the Ukrainian government would not be ready for peace talks until resources ran out, he said at an economic forum in Vladivostok.
If the Russian army stopped fighting, the Ukrainian side would use this to equip its forces. However, Kiev’s ongoing counter-offensive has “failed”, Putin said on Tuesday (see video above). Moreover, it is a “crime” for the West to supply cluster munitions and depleted uranium projectiles. In any case, the delivery of F16 fighter jets will not change anything, but will only prolong the conflict.
In addition, the Russian ruler commented on Ukrainian saboteurs captured by the domestic secret service FSB. They wanted to damage nuclear power stations and were ordered to do so by the British intelligence services. This is worrying and can have serious consequences.
Every day, 1,000 to 1,500 Russians join the army
Responding to a question about possible mobilization, Putin said in Vladivostok that 1,000 to 1,500 Russians daily would sign contracts to voluntarily join the army. In the past six months there have been a total of 270,000 volunteers.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on his people to remain focused on the war. “Although today is the 565th day of this war, every individual must remain focused on the defense of the state, just as in the first days,” Zelensky said in his evening video message on Monday evening. “Russia is not hoping for a victory. The enemy just hopes that we won’t resist the whole thing. Ukraine must remain steadfast. Anything that makes us stronger is a priority, the only priority. There can be no negligence. We will not allow anyone to weaken Ukraine.”
According to an army spokesman, the Ukrainian army is gaining an average of 50 to 200 meters of ground per day. “Sometimes there are kilometers and sometimes there is no movement at all because we have to hold and protect our troops,” the spokesman for the Taurin sector of the front, Olexander Shtupun, said on Tuesday evening, according to Ukrinform news agency. The Russian enemy is trying to regain lost positions and attract new reserves.
