The Oktoberfest has opened – the first photos of the Oktoberfest in Munich

Date:

The 188th Oktoberfest takes place from Saturday to October 3 at the Theresienwiese. The first visitors already stormed the site and gathered in the beer tents. Here you can see the first photos.

The largest folk festival in the world is about to start. The site has been opened and will soon be called “O’zapft is” again.

About six million visitors – including hundreds of thousands from Austria – will not miss the fun over the next three weeks.

But this year the site requires a big wallet. Prices for a pint of beer, food and rides reach a new record. Last year you paid 173 euros for two half ducks and three beer mugs in a festival tent, this year the already impressive price is even higher.

Because: In 2023, the price of beer for one liter alone will rise to 14.90 euros. That is an average of 6.12 percent more than in 2022. The average prices for non-alcoholic drinks are 10.04 euros per liter for table water (2022: 9.67 euros), Spezi 11.65 euros (2022: 10.85 euros) and for lemonade 11.17 euros (2022). : 10.35 euros).

Due to inflation, higher energy costs, etc., you also have to spend more on food. Another reason: restaurateurs have relied on organic products for years and prices are correspondingly ‘volatile’. This year, half an Ammer organic chicken with potato salad costs 26.60 euros.
