Videos featuring special pets are well received on social media. The trade in wildlife to private individuals is flourishing. On Friday afternoon, a puma was released from captivity in Brazil – it was for sale for 3,800 euros.
It’s a worrying trend currently making the rounds on social networks. Private individuals keep smaller wild cats such as lynches, pumas or serval cats. Brazilian sellers apparently thought so too and offered a puma boy online for around 3,800 euros.

But the illegal sale was discovered. During a raid, police officers discovered the frightened animal in a room of a house that had been converted into a residence. The animal was taken to a wildlife sanctuary by police. The owners are being investigated.
