Missed red light – cyclist seriously injured after collision with a bus

A violent collision took place in Vienna-Favoriten on Saturday afternoon. A bus collided with a cyclist after missing the red light.

The 44-year-old bus driver was on the Ludwig-von-Höhnel-Gasse when he wanted to cross the Altes Landgut intersection straight ahead. At the same time, however, the 51-year-old cyclist also wanted to cross the intersection and the two collided.

The bus had a green light
The cyclist was seriously injured in the accident. She is currently still in hospital. According to initial investigations, the bus driver’s traffic light was green and the cyclist’s light was red. Further investigations are still open.
