Police officers in Vienna-Wieden were alerted on Monday evening after a 43-year-old showed up at the apartment of his ex-wife (46) despite a restraining order and threatened to kill her.
When the argument between the two completely escalated, the woman’s father (73) who was present tried to mediate the dispute, but without success. Rather, the suspect then attacked the 73-year-old, punching him in the face several times.
Ex-wife called police
After the violent altercation, the 43-year-old fled the apartment. The ex-wife immediately alerted the police. A short time later, the suspect appeared at the nearest police station. He was temporarily arrested.
The 43-year-old stated during interrogation that he just wanted to see his child and that he was hit by the 73-year-old, leaving scratches on his hands. Subsequently, a report was also filed against the 73-year-old on suspicion of bodily harm.

Police are investigating the 43-year-old on suspicion of dangerous threats and bodily harm. He is also accused of violating the ban.
Further discussions with all those involved are still ongoing. The 73-year-old was taken to hospital with minor injuries after the altercation.
