A heavily pregnant woman from Styria had water up to her chest after heavy storms. Serious damage was caused to the house that was rescued with great difficulty. Who will help the family?
Our readers know: if the Styrians need us in emergency situations, “Die Krone helps” is there for them. We provide support very quickly, completely unbureaucratically and always individually according to the respective needs. Without a single cent ending up in bureaucracy! The “crown” pays all costs.
Since the flood tragedy we have received dozens of questions, some of which were truly desperate! Those who have suffered damage often only now realize the scale of the disaster, the high costs and that insurance often only replaces a fraction of it. We visit the worst cases of hardship ourselves and get an idea immediately on the spot.
Only moved at the end of June
Like this small family in southern Styria. She had only moved into her own house in June (!), had saved a lot of money and, like most house builders, had partly financed it with borrowed money. The furnishings were not even finished yet, a lot of furniture, mattresses, etc. were still stored in the basement.
And that’s exactly where the water masses were pushed on that August 4th. What makes it even more dramatic: the woman, mother of a three-year-old child, was heavily pregnant with the second. There was also the excitement when the water was forced through the tiles into the basement: “We vacuumed with the wet vacuum cleaner, mopped and then pumped, but it still kept getting bigger,” says the woman about the nightmare that had come true.
“We don’t dare think about the electricity bill”
In the basement the water rose more than 80 centimeters, breaking the heating and causing the furniture to float towards the heavily pregnant woman. The dryers have been running for three weeks, “we don’t even dare to think about the electricity bill.” Estimated damage: tens of thousands of euros
Sweet Johanna has now been born and despite the excitement everyone is healthy. But desperate: the cold season is just around the corner. Two small children – and no heating! But we firmly believe that the ‘Krone’ family will not condone a case like this.
