Fire in residential building – Fire brigade saves 40 tenants, dog helplessly suffocated

On Saturday morning, an apartment in an apartment complex in Traun (Upper Austria) went up in flames. The resident was not there and only found out when she returned home that her house had burned down. Due to the heavy smoke, the entire building is currently uninhabitable and approximately 40 residents had to be evacuated.

Four injured people in hospital, one dead dog and the entire building uninhabitable for the time being – that is the result of an apartment fire in Traun. Particularly tragic: the resident of the burned-out apartment was not at home and only learned of the fire when he returned home. Her dog – he was in the apartment – ​​could not be saved.

House uninhabitable
The entire building was so badly affected by the fire that it is currently uninhabitable. All tenants had to be evacuated, staying with relatives or waiting for alternative housing at Traun Stadium. The fire brigade is currently still busy extinguishing the fire.
