Serious accident Sunday morning in Niederau (Tyrol): A motorist (43) ended up with his vehicle on the sidewalk for an unknown reason and hit the dog of a local man (58). He then touched a street lamp and a distribution box. The dog died a short time later from his injuries.
The 58-year-old local resident was walking on the sidewalk with his dog shortly after 6 a.m. At the same time, the 43-year-old local man and his 47-year-old passenger approached them in their car on Grafenwegstrasse. In a slight bend to the left, the driver, for unknown reasons, drove the car off the right side of the road and hit the dog.
Dog died from his injuries
He then crashed into a street lamp and a wooden fence and stopped at a distribution box. The animal was trapped near the left front tire. When the owner tried to free the dog, he was bitten and injured on the hand. The dog died from his injuries more than an hour after the accident.
The driver involved in the accident appears to be on the run
The passenger suffered significant facial injuries. The driver himself was shocked. An alcohol test on the 43-year-old showed that he was significantly drunk. His driver’s license was confiscated on the spot.
