The ELA union on Wednesday denounced that the Basque and Navarrese governments, with the planned process of stabilization of public employmentit is only meant to stabilize One in four temporary employees.

Union representatives recalled in a press conference that, according to what was stated in the call, iceta lawbefore 1 June, the administrations must publish and approve the places to be offered in the stabilization processes.

ELA has criticized the determination of both the Navarrese and Basque governments with its job offer to remain the largest ETT and to continue to use temporary work in a systematic, abusive and fraudulent way to fill structural vacancies.

The union states that the government of Lakua is exempting 33,356 public sector workers in the CAV, which is 72%. In Navarra, ELA, for its part, emphasized that the government is condemning 13,000 people to temporary work.

It considers that it thus fails to comply with the provisions of the Iceta Act and the mandate of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which require an end to the abusive and fraudulent use of temporariness and its return to at least 8% (with the current limited-time offer 30% remains).

In this sense, the union has recalled that “it will not accept this situation” and that it will continue to promote mobilizations to end the uncertainty that impermanence brings, as in Osakidetza, general administration, cleaning of kitchens and public education, etc.

The union has also put forward that it will take legal action in case of non-compliance by the Basque government or other institutions with the Iceta law.
