Be careful: stay away from power lines!

Date:

The train is the safest means of transport in Austria. Yet every year many people have accidents on the railways due to ignorance and carelessness. You can read here which rules must be observed on railway systems to ensure that no dangerous situations arise in the first place!

Many things use electricity, including trains. However, the electricity used on the train is much more powerful than that used at home. A socket has a voltage of 230 volts. As you know, reaching an electrical outlet can be fatal. An even higher voltage is used – namely a high voltage of 15,000 volts – to run the train!

Keep your distance from the traction line
So always remember how treacherous electricity is: you can’t see it, you can’t hear it, and you can’t smell it. If you get too close to 15,000 volts, your life is in danger!

Safety Tips:

  • Stay away from power lines!
  • Wagons are not an adventure playground!
  • Never fly your kite near power lines!
  • No courage tests or tricks on bridges over the tracks!
  • You don’t even have to touch the cable, the current in the form of an arc can be life-threatening even over a distance of several meters!

Greetings!
