Australian Prime Minister bumped into boys playing football

Date:

A new parliament will be elected in Australia on May 21. Conservative politician Scott Morrison, who has been in office since 2018, is hoping for reelection. In the state of Tasmania, however, the “election campaign” degenerated: During a football game in Devonport, the 54-year-old, dressed in a tie and shirt, ran to the ball – and fell on a young teammate.

According to recordings from Wednesday night (local time), Morrison quickly rolled on the ground – with the boy in his arms. “Everthing allright?” he asked young Luca, reaching out for a high-five.

“We think Luca has shown enough determination and dedication to prevent the Prime Minister from scoring at all costs,” football club Devonport Strikers wrote after the accident.

The young footballer is doing well. Luca is now looking forward to being the star at his school the next day.
