The plane crash in China with 132 victims could have been provoked

Beijing aviation has come to that conclusion after analyzing the cockpit recorder and the black boxes

US officials told the Wall Street Journal that one of the black boxes of the China Eastern Airlines plane, which killed 132 after a March 21 crash in southern China’s Guangxi region, indicates a deliberate maneuver.

Citing sources from the US authorities involved in the investigation, including the National Transportation Safety Board and the manufacturer Boeing, the newspaper reported that this conclusion was reached after the analysis of data from the cockpit recorder was extracted.

For its part, the US airline told the newspaper that “any unofficial speculation could hinder the investigation into the accident – conducted by the Beijing aviation authority – and affect the real progress of the global air transport industry.”

The second “black box” of the China Eastern Airlines plane that crashed with 132 people on board on March 21 in the Guangxi region, in the south of the Asian country, was found at the end of March, according to the Chinese news agency Xinhua.

The China Eastern Airlanes Boeing 737-800 crashed in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on March 21 without the investigation finding any traces of organic or inorganic explosives.

The accident, in which the aircraft rapidly descended from an altitude of more than 8,000 meters, is considered highly unusual. The plane appeared to briefly correct its course during the descent, but then crashed into a forest.

According to the Chinese authorities, several attempts have been made to contact the crew, but without response. About three minutes after the start of the descent, the signal disappeared. Flight MU5735 from Kunming to Guangzhou had 9 crew members and 123 passengers on board.
