Health agrees with SATSE, SME and UGT on changes affecting Osakidetza’s temporary recruitment lists

Despite this specific agreement, all unions critically assessed the meeting of the sector board and regretted that negotiations on the agreement on employment conditions, which have not been renewed for fourteen years, were not discussed.

After a four-hour meeting of the Sectoral Health Council, the Basque Ministry of Health signed an agreement with the unions SATSE, Medical Union (SME) and UGT about the process of changes that affect the temporary recruitment lists from Osakidetza.

In a statement, it reiterated its commitment to publishing the publication provisional lists of applicants in all categories of the OPE 18-19 before the OPE stabilization exams, tests that end in November.

Despite this specific agreement with three centers, all the unions of the Table (SATSE, ELA, LAB, SME, CC.OO. and UGT) regretted that Salud agreement that regulates working conditions, which has not been renewed for fourteen years. The union centers wanted to address the renewal of the agreement (the last dating from 2009), but Osakidetza rejected the request.

The unions are demanding a structural expansion of the workforce and are using the option included in the general state budgets to exceptionally increase the replacement rate this year in order to comply with the European mandate that temporary employment may not exceed 8%. Osakidetza does not take this possibility into account and refers to the resolution of the OPEs that are now being held. According to the power plants, these stabilization PEOs will not solve the problem of temporality.
