The police have arrested a suspect, the Kassel Public Prosecutor’s Office and the North Hesse Police Station announced on Friday. So it concerns a 20-year-old acquaintance of the victim. The man, who has German nationality and comes from the Kassel district, is “highly suspected”.
The youngster named Marie Sophie had been missing from the 6,000-member community since Wednesday. She left the house around 6:30 PM and had been missing since then. Family members therefore reported her missing on Thursday evening. The officers also occasionally publicly searched for the 14-year-old.

According to police, a man discovered the student’s body early Thursday evening while making wood. It was near a clump of trees at the edge of a field outside the village near a woodpile. The man immediately called the police, who were in the area as part of the search for the 14-year-old. The investigation showed that there was malicious intent.
