East Tyrolean greetings from secondary school students ended up on the desk of British King Charles. The King and Queen thanked them for the congratulations from Austria.
Tens of thousands of congratulatory messages from all over the world reached British King Charles III after his coronation in early May. Including a letter from 4A at the Sillian secondary school in East Tyrol. “As part of the English lesson, the students wrote a message to the king,” says director Andreas Strasser in the interview with “Krone”. The students not only congratulated the monarch on his coronation, but also thanked him for his commitment to the environment. “The students also invited Charles to Tyrol to show him their beautiful homeland,” said the director.
Royal Mail in high school
For months the students waited for an answer from the king. “They were a bit disappointed because they thought the king wouldn’t come forward.” But then came the big surprise. Six months after sending the congratulations, the royal mail arrived at the high school. King Charles III, together with Queen Camilla, thanked the East Tyrolean congratulations of the 15 students and their teacher Maria Gardener.
He did not announce whether the king would visit East Tyrol.
