After the bus accident at Eugendorf (Salzburg), the western motorway is closed in both directions. There are significant traffic congestion around the city of Salzburg.
The accident happened on Thursday morning in the direction of Vienna at the construction site near Eugendorf. The western autobahn was blocked in both directions between Salzburg-North and Wallersee.
During the total blockade, a kilometer-long traffic jam quickly developed in both directions. The roads around Salzburg soon became congested and long delays were to be expected.
“Around 06:00, one lane towards Germany was released, but in the opposite direction it is still closed and at 07:30 the recovery work is still in full swing,” said ARBÖ traffic expert Angela Leimer.
