A plane crash took place in the Carinthian municipality of Diex on Wednesday evening. Two people were injured to an unknown extent and had to be rescued by emergency services. The plane took off from Slovenia.
The small plane crashed for an unknown reason in the municipality of Diex near Bösenort on Wednesday evening. A large contingent of emergency services immediately left for the accident site, which is located on partially impassable terrain in a clearing in the forest above an agricultural plot.
People rescued from plane
“Two people were rescued from the crashed plane,” state police headquarters said in response to a “Krone” request. The accident victims had to receive first aid from the emergency services and then be taken to hospital with injuries of an undetermined nature.
The Slovenian Eektor Sportstar small plane had taken off from Maribor and suddenly lost contact with air traffic control before crashing.
The crash site was cordoned off by officials. Further police investigations into the accident are expected to take place later today.
In addition to the Red Cross, the fire brigades of Völkermarkt, Diex, Gattersdorf and Haimburg and the police were also present. Mountain rescue was also involved in rescuing the injured.
